Medial epicanthoplasty

The medial epicanthus, or the Mongolian fold, is where a crescent of skin covers the medial or inner corners of the eyes. The Mongolian
fold occurs in more than half of the Asian population and occurs with varying levels of severity. The Mongolian crease contributes to a
seemingly smaller size of the eyes and may make the distance between the eyes seem excessively wide. Through the medial
epicanthoplasty procedure, the crescent of the skin of the inner corners is removed to make the eyes look larger and more proportionate
with the rest of the face.

Surgical procedure

  1. Before surgery Preoperative consultation
  2. DesignSurigical design
  3. Suture The Mongolian crease is
    removed and the inner
    canthus is elongated medially
  4. After The skin is redraped
    and sutured

Lateral canthoplasty / Lower canthoplasty

The lateral and lower canthoplasty procedures are performed to elongate the outer corners of the eyes and/or alter the horizontal axis,
or tilt, of the eyes. When performed in conjunction with other eyelid procedures such as the medial epicanthoplasty and double eyelid
surgery, the lateral/lower canthoplasty procedure will yield significant enlargement of the eyes and give the eyes depth, while giving the
whole face more aesthetic balance. With the NJH surgical technique for lateral and lower canthoplasty, there is less chance of recurrence
or unusual scarring that may occur with other methods of lateral/lower canthoplasty.

Surgical procedure (Lateral canthoplasty)

  1. Before surgery Preoperative consultation
  2. DesignSurigical design
  3. Suture The outer corner of
    the eyes are elongated
  4. After The surgical incisions are
    sutured together

Surgical procedure (Lower canthoplasty)

  1. Before surgery Preoperative consultation
  2. DesignSurgical design
    inside the lower lid
  3. Suture The lower lid of the eyes are
    pulled down and shortened
so that the eyes are widened
and the slant of the eyes are
    at an ideal axis.
  4. After The surgical incisions are
    sutured together
